M5 Mass Timber ResidentialPrototype for Mass Timber Rental Residential

M5 will be one of the tallest mass timber buildings in the world and the first of 100 buildings built with support of the Province of BC’s Mass Timber Demonstration Program.

The project is designed as a prototype for other mass timber projects in BC to help drive the production low-carbon mass timber housing at scale across the development industry. Our Proposed tower at Main Alley will create 276 rental homes immediately adjacent the Main Alley Campus.

Net Zero Lifecycle Strategy at M5

Simply put, this residential building will endeavour to have the same net impact on the environment as if it was never built. The building will be designed to minimize both operational and embodied carbon, with strategies to offset any residual emissions.

Location

The homes at M5 are in close proximity to the Main Alley Campus and centrally located in Mount Pleasant, an epicentre of culture in Vancouver anchored by Main Street, named one of the world's coolest streets. Offering the ability to live within walking distance of work, amenities and transit, M5 will be a draw for professionals and top creative economy talent both local and international.

Future Residential

In addition to M5 we are exploring an additional rental residential tower at M1.
